Fed-up teenage cinema worker chases off a group of mall-wrecking teens full-speed through the mall, after security fails to do anything, finally getting rid of them for good: ‘Astonished customers stopped and stared at the scene’

There's nothing quite like a group of roudy, trouble-making teenage boys to ruin somebody's peaceful outing

They don't even necessarily have to be doing anything 'naughty' per se, the volume at which they communicate with one another is enough to drive a person crazy! You know the saying "read the room," I don't think teenage boys even understand a sliver of that phrase until they're at least reaching 18-years-old. Now, throw them into a group…and there's no stopping them! Unless you're this 5'1, 15-year-old, blonde ponytailed, pink lipglossed girl who works at the local mall's movie cinema. They say dynamite comes in small packages, and she just may have enough to scare some respect into this group of havoc-sparking teens! 

One day, she is utterly fed up with the four boys' behavior after getting word that they're messing up mall displays, hassling workers…you get the point. The mall security had been called on them a couple of times, but Dave must have been eating a strawberry-glazed donut in the food court, because he was nowhere to be seen. 

So this 15-year-old cinema worker decides to take matters into her own hands…or in this case, feet. After they were unable to provide her with tickets after entering the theater, she "full-sprinted" after them, chasing them through the entire mall…She chased them out of the mall, and just like that, they never returned…Either out of embarrassment or out of fear…because dynamite does come in small packages!

  • There's a difference between having fun and completely disturbing others. If you see a group of people, no matter their age, disrespecting those around them, you should never feel too scared to stand up to them, no matter your age, either. Who knows? Perhaps something you say could "click" on a switch in their brains that could alter their obnoxious behavior, such as: “Should I be concerned that a 12-year-old child is lecturing me on my behavior?" 

    We really do believe this could spark some type of inner self-reflection that most people didn't even know they needed. Because ‘boys will be boys’ or ‘girls will be girls’ is no longer an excuse for bad manners.

  • mall security might not get you, but i will…

    i'll start off by saying this isnt anything psychological or complex or witty, just quite funny (probably less so to them) so i used to work at a cinema in a mall complex, and we'd occasionally get some troublemakers but it was really nothing much, at most it was kids trying to get into R rated movies, or people sneaking into theatres without tickets.

  • i will add a couple of the managers werent exactly understanding or respectful towards me (with some health issues i had), so i disliked two, and then two other managers were nice.

  • this day, my absolute favourite manager was on, she treated me like an actual human with thoughts and feelings, and treated me with respect and decency rather than a walking vacuum cleaner and ticket machine.

  • i also knew she struggled a lot with anxiety. so one day i get word that a group of 4 guys, probably 16 or so, really obnoxious type, have been going all round the mall for the last hour or so causing havoc, messing up displays, hassling underpaid workers, even breaking some stuff here and there.

  • a group of 4 guys walked in and i could tell it was them, so i blocked them from going into the theatre and casually asked to see their tickets (now i cared very little usually if someone snuck in here and there, but they had been making average peoples day worse for fun and i wasnt having it).

  • they pretended to look for their tickets and i "called security on them" (my radio was off and i didnt even have access to a line for security but they didnt need to know that).

  • technically i was powerless to do anything once they left the premises, but i was on minimum wage having a shit day, trying to look out for the one kind manager, and i had nothing to lose.

  • they never came back again to make matters funnier i'll add the detail that i was a 17yo girl, 5'1, blonde pigtails, pink glittery lipgloss, presson nails, real girly girl.

  • Rigatonigustavobrown I was a store manager at Pacsun and did the same thing to some of our teenage shoplifters. They never expected the 4'11 girl to come tearing out the store after them down the hallway (I only ran until they freaked out and bolted)
